Our project („Enabling adequate physical activity and improving social inclusion for children and adults with disabilities through swimming” / LET’S SWIM) is focused on
(1) individuals with disabilities aiming to offer them equal opportunity in swimming and tool for social inclusion and to motivate them, through swimming, to get and stay engaged into sport and be physically active and on
(2) swimming organizations and their coaches aiming to share knowledge and experience about application of Halliwick Concept, to raise awareness about and to further upgrade relevant traits, coaches’ knowledge, competencies and skills necessary for coaching children and adults with disabilities as well as to increase competencies in organization of very specific competition, called Gala2, that enables people with and without disabilities to swim/compete together thus securing continuous motivation for people with disabilities to get and stay engaged into sport.
With LET’S SWIM project we want to promote swimming sport as health enhancing physical activity and as a powerful tool for providing equal opportunities and enabling better social inclusion for individuals with disability.
